Application of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine

Abstract

The paper presents the directions of artificial intelligence technologies application in medicine and healthcare. Authors outline the main stages in history of artificial intelligence formation and show contemporary development trends.Authors highlight the main fields of artificial intelligence application in medicine and present a number of promising foreign developments in selected areas, such as surgical robotics, telemedicine, diagnostics, cardiology, and development of new drugs.Authors show that the success of artificial intelligence technologies application depends on the effectiveness of cooperation between specialists of different fields. The use of artificial intelligence in the field of medicine and healthcare leads to a reduction in time of patients’ treatment and detection of pathological processes at an earlier stage.
