Abstract
The role played in applied engineering sciences by the nonlinear decoupling method is investigated in the framework of Hamiltonian formalism. Some experiments and results in the fields of robotics, numerical analysis, hydrodynamics and medicine are summarised, and other applications of the method are suggested.
