Abstract

An analytical method for calculating the thermal current requirement of feeders in manufacturing plants with intermittent loads such as welders and robots is presented. Probabilistic and power distribution network modeling are combined. This analytical method of calculation gives values which agree with results from exact discrete-state-type calculations. Other plant loads such as motors, lighting, heating, and shunt compensation can be included. The method can be extended to include single-phase welder and robot loads.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
