MULTI-SENSOR INFORMATION FUSION AND AUTOMATION

Abstract

The basic concept of the multisensor information fusion is introduced in this paper, including its origin, research fields, existing theory and methods. Its applications in automation area, such as industrial robots, automatic vehicle navigation and steering, identity verification, multi target tracking, artificial intelligence, etc. are also discussed. The authors vision the future of the research area and investigate the relevant problems about the general theory, main methodologies and existing problems.
