Introduction to Reinforcement Learning

Abstract

Reinforcement learning is a fast-growing discipline and is helping to make AI real, especially when it comes to robots and autonomous vehicles. Combining deep learning with reinforcement learning has led to many significant advances that are increasingly getting machines closer to acting the way humans do. Recently, deep reinforcement learning has been applied to Large Language Models like ChatGPT and others to make them follow human instructions and produce output that's favored by humans. This is known as Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF).
