AEI Robot

AEI Robot is a South Korean humanoid robotics company founded in 2018 as a spin-off from Hanyang University ERICA's robotics lab, with CEO Sheal Eum and CTO Professor Han Jae-kwon. The company produces two primary humanoid platforms: AIMY, a 150 cm / 44 kg service/welcome robot (23 DoF, AMD Ryzen 5 7600 + NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti, launched 2024, debuted CES 2026) targeting hospitality, retail, and healthcare; and ALICE M1, a heavier industrial humanoid (130–180 cm, 97 kg, 31 DoF, NVIDIA AGX Orin) priced at ~$45,000 and targeting construction, manufacturing, and shipbuilding. The company is an Nvidia Inception member, integrates Nvidia Kimodo and SOMA Retargeter for natural-language-driven motion generation, and had ALICE featured at GTC 2026. Autonomy evidence is primarily vendor/community-sourced with no independent teardown or third-party operational review; the robots perform their service tasks (navigation, greeting, object interaction) without a human driving those tasks, supporting an Autonomous classification for their defined use cases, though real-world reliability and edge-case performance remain unverified by independent sources.
