Abstract The magnetic field model of the axially magnetized cylindrical permanent magnet is established by using the virtual magnetic charge method and incorporating the demagnetizing field effect on magnetization, and the effect of the demagnetizing field on the magnetization of the permanent magnet is analysed. The finite element simulation was used to verify the model results. The average deviations of the magnetic field H r and H z between the analytical magnetic field model and the finite element simulation were 0.57% and 0.22%, respectively, indicating good consistency between the two methods. Compared with the finite element simulation, the analytical model reduces computation time by orders of magnitude (O(n) vs O(n 3 )) while ensuring higher accuracy. This high-precision and efficient model enables rapid topology optimization in motor design, real-time parameter adjustment under varying loads in electric vehicles, and provides efficient programmable reference fields for Hall sensor calibration in robotics.
