摘要
This chapter explores the integration of Responsible AI principles into the development and deployment of autonomous systems, including self-driving vehicles, drones, and robotics. It begins by defining unique ethical and operational challenges raised by these technologies such as those on safety, decision-making, transparency, and accountability in complex environments. This chapter presents frameworks of designing autonomously ethical systems, where bias, privacy issues, and the human-agency implications of machine autonomy, among other related elements, were discussed. Then, the chapter presents case studies and real-world applications which delves into new approaches for assessing and mitigating risks including stakeholder engagement and adherence to regulations. The Chapter also speaks on interdisciplinary collaboration, foregrounding broad comprehension on societal impacts through autonomous systems. The chapter aims to fill the gap by providing actionable insights and guidelines for practitioners on more responsible development of autonomous technologies with human values and societal well-being at its center, paving for a safer and fairer future.
