摘要
Reaching the sustainability targets set forth by the United Nations would require an increasingly sophisticated ecosystem that makes use of real-time wireless technology. Cattle raised for dairy are a significant global origin of milk production. Dairy farmers must use real-time monitoring technologies to effectively meet the growing population's increasing food needs. This chapter explores the broad possibilities of using technology to improve the management of dairy cattle and their ecosystem. For applications like supply chain management, feed monitoring, safety, location tracking, milk quality evaluation, and animal health surveillance, we talk about intelligent systems for sensing, monitoring, and analytical techniques. Furthermore, a generalized architecture is suggested that might be used directly in upcoming R&D projects. Building intelligent ecosystems with edge devices, robotics, drones, and block chain would simplify data collection and application processing. The benefits and difficulties of using earlier methods for different dairy cattle management tasks are also covered in this chapter. In order to successfully implement an intelligent ecosystem in dairy cattle management, some key recommendations include the use of high-performance wearables, renewable energy harvesting, block chain with IoT-assisted milk supply chain technologies, and drone-based monitoring of violent animal behavior.
