Artificial Intelligence Innovations

摘要

Presently, it is a propitious era of artificial intelligence (AI). Several innovative technologies have become an integral part of our life and enriched us with favorable and valuable services in distinct ways. AI is usually recognized as the potential of a machine to imitate human intelligence. This chapter focuses on the origination and background of AI and how it has given rise to different sub-fields with the evolution. It also presents different types of AI, along with the challenges and problems faced in this field. As it is known that AI laid its foundation on the perception of an agent and its environment, the analysis of distinct type of agents and different environment features are conferred. In addition, problem solving search algorithms, their properties and types are presented. A brief depiction about the tools and techniques practiced in AI has also been presented. The chapter also outlines distinct applications and innovation of AI in diverse areas (Healthcare, Education, Robotics, Transportation, Renewable Energy, Geoscience and Remote Sensing, Finance, Agriculture) and analysis of how these areas have benefitted from AI. In the years to come, AI will go on nurturing in a mode to advance the quality of life by facilitating humans to accomplish their tasks more efficiently and quickly.
