Optical distance sensor for robotics applications

摘要

Optical sensors which indicate the distance from a robot end effector to a workpiece have a number of uses in automated assembly operations. This paper describes a dual detector sensor based on reflected light measurement. Performance is evaluated and compared with predictions obtained from a simulation program.
