摘要

The idiom “Marks are not the measure of intelligence” implies that intelligence is not determined by how much knowledge a person has but by how well one understands and applies it. An intelligent person knows how to perceive, analyze, and utilize information. Intelligence and knowledge are intrinsically intertwined, and one helps the other grow. Engineering, technology, the military, opinion mining, sentiment analysis, and many more fields now use artificial intelligence (AI). It is also used in cutting-edge fields, including language processing, aerospace applications, and voice and facial recognition systems, and offers personalized product suggestions based on past purchases. This ability makes detecting spam and stopping credit card fraud much simpler. AI replicates human intelligence in machines by instructing robots to perform the same actions as humans. AI will have a more significant influence on people’s everyday lives as a technology. This chapter introduces AI, including its origins, fundamental principles, and present and potential future uses. The chapter’s goal is to increase readers’ knowledge and familiarity with AI. It serves as a light introduction to the topic for new readers and is optional for individuals already knowledgeable about AI, although it may stimulate some ideas or provide helpful information.
