摘要
This study aimed to control a mimicking telepresent robotic neck using Oculus Rift and an accelerometer-magnetometer pair attached to the body. The proponents considered the limitations from the previous study of Kintanar et al. (2017) that only tracked the head movements from the face of the user and not with respect where the body is facing. The proponents used Oculus Rift and an accelerometer-magnetometer pair attached to the body to solve this problem. This study applied the sensor fusion of the micro-electro mechanical sensors of the Oculus Rift to get the yaw, pitch, and roll movement of the neck. This study also used Tilt compensation algorithm in the accelerometer-magnetometer pair attached to the body to get the heading needed for correcting the yaw movement of the neck to be with respect to the body. The proponents used LabVIEW robotics software for extracting and graphing the data then used it in statistics to evaluate the response of the system. The proponents concluded that the Oculus Rift and the accelerometer-magnetometer pair were able to track human neck movements with respect where the body is facing to control the mimicking telepresent robotic neck. The proponents also concluded that the human neck angle and the robotic neck angle was close to each other.
