摘要
Self-service technologies, with automation, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and robotics, are continuously evolving traditional farming by enabling farmers to automate operations not limited to crop establishment, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting. This chapter reviews current self-service innovations, providing data-driven insights on their adoption, cost savings, and operational benefits while exploring future applications. Studies indicate that these technologies have led to a 20–40% reduction in labor costs, a 30–45% decrease in operational expenses, and a 25% improvement in overall crop yields. Despite the advantages, wider adoption is hampered by high initial cost, technological complexity, infrastructure obstacles, and data security issues. Overcoming such problems requires collaboration between governments, technology developers, and farming communities through subsidies, educational programs, and localized solutions.
