摘要
open-source hardware, modular systems, and digitial fabrication are highlighted, showcasing methods of innovation for smaller research groups that conduct research alongside well-funded institutions. Concurrently, the need for robust safety systems, validation protocols, and interdisciplinary collaboration are stressed to ensure reliability, transparency, and inclusivity. Beyond technical capability, the emergence of AI systems capable of hypothesis generation and scientific reasoning raises critical questions about the evolving nature of creativity, intuition, and authorship in science. Rather than replacing human researchers, an argument is made for a model of collaborative intelligence- where humans and machines co-create knowledge, each contributing distinct strengths. This perspective proposes that the future of research lies not only in smarter tools but in the development of smarter, ethically grounded systems that amplify human insight and redefine the very practice of science in the 21st century.
