Teaching Sociology through Existing Television Programs

Fast Forward, distributed by TV Ontario and broadcast over the PBS affiliate, KAET-TV (VHF) in Phoenix, Arizona, consists of 13 half-hour programs on the latest developments achieved through computer hardware. Designed as a dynamic but simple explanation, each program is oriented to a specific subject, such as medicine, robotics, business information, the arts, and so forth. Computer graphics and other special effects make the programs visually engaging, and on-site film footage of applied technology provide a you are there feeling for increased viewer involvement. The series is oriented to an audience interested in the future of information technology but lacking in technical sophistication.
