This Third Edition, of the only comprehensive handbook on fastening and joining methods for any mechanical design operations, has five new sections added, and the seven of the original 20 sections have been significantly revised. There is approximately 325 additional pages of useful material on fastening and joining. Fastening and joining is a basic technology which is common to all engineering disciplines. The handbook attempts to be an all inclusive reference. The five sections added to the third edition are: Shafts and Coupling, Seals and Packings, Self-Clinching Fasteners, Robotic Assembly, and Innovative Connections. Additions have been made to the following sections: concrete fastening, lumber, timber and log connections, and locking components. The Handbook presents all current standards in tabular form for quick and easy reference, while showing components in clear illustrations for immediate understanding.
