The Cougar-XTi is a work-class electric ROV manufactured by Saab Seaeye (part of the Saab Group, founded 1986, headquartered in Fareham, UK). It is depth-rated to 2000 m (with an earlier launch specification of 3000 m noted in one source), powered by six 500V DC thrusters, and built around the iCON™ distributed intelligent control ecosystem. The vehicle is designed for survey, IRM, drill support, light construction, salvage, and inspection tasks, and is operated by a human pilot via tether — with autopilot aids (heading, depth, altitude hold, station keeping) assisting but not replacing the pilot. Full shore-based remote telepresence control is described only as a future roadmap item, not a current capability.
